Tea has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Hot tea, iced tea, green tea, herbal tea, Moscato tea, okay that last one isn’t really a thing, but don’t you kind of wish it was. Anyway, point being, I love all teas. So when I heard about Tea Baths I was interested, to say the least.
We love bubble baths in our house, but all Olivia wants to do is eat the bubbles so they’re becoming few and farther between. I still wanted something calming and relaxing for her that didn’t entail a belly full of bubbles. Enter DIY Bath Teas!
I really love doing these kinds of baths for Libby. I think its a really nice way to end our day. The lavender is calming and puts her mind in the right place for bed. It’s also a plus that they’re super easy to make and don’t cost a small fortune.
For these bags I’m using both dried lavender and eucalyptus, but I have used dried roses and chamomile in the past and the floral scent they leave behind is amazing.
I find our dried herbs at a local shop near us, as well as the tea bags. This time around, they were sold out of the bags so I picked these up from Michaels, and they seem to being doing the job just as well!
I’m telling you, making these bags are one of the easiest things I’ve done in a while! I’ll add a few spoonfuls of the herbs to each bag until they are decently full. I like to alternate between the herbs I’m using so everything is evenly distributed. Then you just pull the strings tight so the bag is closed and no contents will fall out. AND THATS IT! Super easy!
I store them in the bathroom, which makes the bathroom smell so fresh and clean. When we’re ready to use them, I hang them from the faucet and let the bath fill. I’m telling you, you’re going to love the smell. We usually use each bag twice. Sometimes more if they still have a strong smell. I have used them in our shower as well, as more of an aromatic shower. I just hang the bag from one of the hot/cold knobs and let the steam go to work!
These teas are super quick and easy to make and I really feel they add a spa like feel to our bathrooms. It’s just a small plus that they’re so cute. I love experimenting with different scents and using them in different places around the house. I’ve used just the roses in our drawers, a few satchels in our cars and closets. Because there’s so many uses and so many unique scent combinations, these bags would make such a cute gift!
